At 16 years old, Owen has always been healthy and performed at his peak performance doing his favorite thing: playing baseball. In June of 2020, Owen was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia which meant 11 months of frontline treatment. His treatment was extremely difficult as his exposure to the toxins in chemotherapy resulted in him becoming nonverbal and paralyzed for a time. He relearned how to walk and talk and became more determined than ever to get back to the field. Owen has refused to allow his cancer diagnosis deter him from his dream of playing for the MLB. His main focus while training with The Goliath Project has been to work on his endurance and stamina in order to continue his passion of playing baseball. Owen has worked so hard and has shown such determination to return to the sport he loves and we are so proud of all that he’s accomplished and can’t wait to see him hit his goals.
