mission statement
The Goliath Project believes that every youth cancer survivor deserves a chance to return to the sports and activities they love. We execute this mission by fully funding any personal training session, gym related equipment, nutrition, or sports psychology services they may need.
Why we’re here
Lifesaving treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation often lead to significant loss of muscle mass, reduced balance and coordination, and persistent fatigue — creating an added obstacle for survivors as they work to return to their sport or active lifestyle.

We are so grateful for the generous donation from the Thielen Foundation as 2021 came to a close. The Thielen Foundation was founded by Minnesota Vikings wide receiver, Adam Thielen along with his wife, Caitlin, and was established with the hope of serving local youth and providing resources in order to help them achieve their dreams. We are honored that they have chosen to engage in our vision and support our organization as we strive to empower student athletes to confidently return to their sports. The Goliath Project is excited to announce a new partnership with Scheels, the World’s Largest All Sports Store retailer! Scheels Eden Prairie has been extremely generous in their support of The Goliath Project by funding and supplying gear for our athletes as they begin their journey with a personal trainer. We look forward to this partnership and the lives that will be impacted by it. Check out all the Scheels has to offer here!
We are thrilled to announce our newest partnership with the Dahmen Family Foundation, a dedicated organization committed to making a positive impact through the game of golf. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in our shared mission to drive meaningful change and support for our newest recipient, who has found a love for golf in the midst of his fight with cancer. We couldn’t be more grateful for their support, and dedication to the work we are doing!
We are proud to announce our membership into the Coalition Against Childhood Cancer (CAC2)! This organization connects nonprofits and organizations from across the country all with the primary goal of providing research, resources and community to families impacted by pediatric cancer. CAC2 is utilized by the Children’s Cancer Research Fund and provides an extensive glossary of resources for children and their families. We are excited to partner with CAC2 and look forward to being a part of their growing community.
Goliath Project has teamed up with Make-A-Wish Minnesota to help grant a special wish! Last year, 16 year-old wish child, Nyaija was diagnosed with lymphoma. Nyaija is an active and outdoorsy teen who loves sports and swimming. Nyaija even volunteers as a swim instructor!
For her wish, she chose to have a personal trainer and nutritionist, because she wants to look and feel better and to be the healthiest she can be now that her cancer treatments have ended. Her wish came true in large part due to a generous grant from Goliath Project to cover the cost of a personal trainer for a year as well as a starter kit with athletic gear.
Nyaija’s mom said, “thank you so much we are still in shock! A good shock of course. Aija has not stopped talking about it.”
